Professional Foundations

Before founding Atlantic Real Estate Services (now Atlantic Coastal Solutions), our founder built a strong foundation working for a Maryland-based company specializing in building performance testing, energy efficiency verification, and third-party risk management inspections for both residential and commercial construction.

During that time, he gained extensive experience performing licensed home inspections, IECC energy code compliance testing, and Energy Star certification verification for new construction projects. Working closely with homeowners, real estate professionals, and large production builders, he conducted advanced diagnostics and forensic inspections to identify and resolve complex issues such as:

Home comfort concerns (humidity and temperature imbalance)
Mold and moisture intrusion
Energy efficiency deficiencies
Construction quality and warranty-related issues

This background included performing and managing a wide range of specialized assessments:

Infrared thermographic surveys
Moisture intrusion inspections
Mold inspection and testing
HVAC system performance assessments

He also developed and implemented a radon testing and quality control program tailored for high-volume home builders — a scalable system that became a benchmark for reliability and compliance.

Through this experience, he earned HERS Rater and BPI (Building Performance Institute) certifications and developed a deep understanding of how buildings function as systems — knowledge that continues to define the science-based approach we use today.

The Beginning of Atlantic Coastal Solutions

Building on that technical foundation, he launched Atlantic Real Estate Services in Maryland — a company created to provide trusted inspection and consulting services for homeowners, agents, and builders. What began as a home inspection and consulting business quickly expanded into handyman services, moisture mitigation, and property improvement projects based on client demand.

Recognizing a growing need for specialized environmental solutions, we later introduced Atlantic Radon, which rapidly became one of Maryland’s leading radon testing and mitigation companies. The company gained a reputation for solving complex cases that others could not, earning the trust of homeowners, builders, and real estate professionals alike.

After seven years of growth and success, Atlantic Radon was sold — opening a new chapter as our family relocated to Hampstead, North Carolina.

Today

Now operating as Atlantic Coastal Solutions, we’ve returned to our roots — helping homeowners across Hampstead, Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, and surrounding areas solve real-world home issues with professionalism, integrity, and a hands-on approach.
